The Hawker Style Fried Carrot Cake

Nowadays, I got to cook on most days...
as I don't wanna eat out that often..
My hair is seriously thinning...too much MSG and salt?
So..I'm going to blog about mostly food!

This is for Sunday's lunch...
My version of hawker style fried carrot cake!

The ingredients are...

  • Ready made carrot cake (bought from Sheng Shiong)
  • Eggs
  • Cai Por
  • Spring Onion
  • Chinese Parsley
  • Fish Sauce
  • Light Soya Sauce
  • Oil

I don't have the exact quantity/measurement as it really depends on how salty/oily you want it to be.

First, heat up the oil and stir fry the garlic.

Next, add in the carrot cake & let it sizzle.  Stir them occasionally. Drizzle in fish sauce and light soya sauce.

Mix Cai Por in and fry further.

When carrot cake is a bit brownish, pour the egg into the wok.
Let it fry for a few minutes, you may add in more oil if you want it to be more crispy.

Split it into 4 parts, and flip each part over by not breaking it up too much. It's ready when turns golden brown.

Sprinkle some spring onion and chinese parsley on the fried carrot cake.

And enjoy!

You don't have to buy from the hawkers anymore! =)
