Popovers!

What are popovers?
Many people asked me this question...

Popovers are actually light, hollow roll made from an egg batter similar to that used in making Yorkshire pudding. The name "popover" comes from the fact that the batter swells or "pops" over the top of the muffin tin while baking. They can also be baked in individual custard cups or popover pan. (From Wikipedia)

But I baked them in ramekins.
 Popping in process...

Getting higher!!

And after 40 mins....
The steamy hot popovers out of the oven!

 One of my nicest...

I served the popovers with Marks and Spencer Tomato Basil soup...
some leftover KFC drumsticks...
& butterhead lettuce...

Look at the airy popover! Crispy on the outside and soft inside...
It's a whole new experience, my man found it amusing...
and we realised that it's really good to eat with butter!
Yummy and easy to make!

try this recipe..by Alton Brown from Good Eats

P.S: Go easy on the salt, the recipe called for 1 1/2 tsp of kosher salt, but...
kosher salt is not as salty as regular table salt, so just a pinch of salt will do.
And do remember to grease your cups generously with melted butter,
so they can rise really well and not stick onto the sides!
